Changes

I can’t believe 7 1/2 months have gone by since my last post. SO much has changed.

A month after that post, I injured my hamstring at the gym.

Mid September, I failed my force test because I fell during one of the challenges and reinjured the hamstring.

End September there was an “emergency” posting to switch myself and another MCpl. He needed out and I needed a challenge. Holy shit, what a challenge. Went from having 2 civilian personnel to 6 military – 5 subordinates, and I the same rank as me, which was weird.

During this change for me, my husband went away to teach the RQ Pte trade course, which was challenging and he struggled a lot. That was from late Sept to late November he was away.

December, right before Xmas break, I was promoted to PO2 (Navy equivalent to Sargeant) and it’s been putting out 1 fire out after another.

We also were dealing with the very rapid decline of my mom with her dementia and alzheimers.

I lost a bunch of weight… and gained it back… and have this general feeling of malcontent with my body. Like everything is wrong. And I don’t know how to fix it. My diet is wrong. My exercise is wrong. Everything is wrong.

We’re currently in the Dominican as I’m writing this (yes, the picture is the view the camera on my phone has as I type this) and this malcontent has followed me here.

We basically have 3 1/2 days left, so I’m hoping to have some clarity because right now, I just feel lost.

And with 103 days until the Spartan race, I need to get my shit sorted!
