How Can You Give Yourself a Break Today?

Yes, I selected this topic for today, specifically because it’s Valentines Day.

Personally? It’s an overrated “holiday” that leaves many women disappointed and feeling frustrated – and I’m not one of them, believe it or not! My husband has done some amazing things on Valentines Day – the highlight being a horse-drawn sleigh ride in Banff.

But I’ve always hated this commercialized “holiday”. Probably out of principle. I actually get mad when he does stuff or buys me things!

So how can you give yourself a break today – either mentally, physically, or emotionally?

  • Bottle of wine, bubble bath, and a good book
  • Tea, candles, a cozy blanket, good book, and soft music
  • Meditate and journal
  • Create some art
  • Cook a nice meal
  • Take yourself out for a nice dinner
  • Go to a movie – complete with popcorn and Skittles
  • Book a Reiki session
  • Book a massage, pedicure, manicure, or facial
  • Order in
  • Get a babysitter and go out
